Description
The Seal of Metatron, also known as the Talisman, Virun VII Crest and Circle Emblem, is an item that appears in Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill: Downpour. It also appears in the film Silent Hill: Revelation.
I used as a reference a texture extracted from the SH1 files. This represents one of the latest stages of the symbol (in case you didn't notice, the seal changes in the course of the videogame, and between games as well). This one appears in the sewers, to be precise, near the end of the game, and it's a more complete version of the seal we see almost the whole game. I don't know if this is in fact the complete version, but I doubt it since Alessa couldn't fulfill the ritual she was trying to do.
In SH3, we see an even more complete version of it, with letters or symbols in the external circle, but we can't know for sure if that's the actual complete version of it or just another revamped version just to appear in SH3 a little more decorated. Note the talisman Heather carries differs in its design, and we discover near the end of SH3 the talisman is apparently useless.
We can assume these changes or differences must mean something, at least in the first, original game. But what?
